Naveen Fashion’s Md Leaves Country After Threats Over Punjabi Sales At Low Prices, Announces Relaunch Within 24 Hours

Naveen Fashion has given rise to a dramatic incident centered on selling Punjabis and pajamas at low prices. On the one hand, there are allegations of forced closure of the shop, on the other hand, there are claims that they are leaving the country after receiving death threats. All in all, the company and its managing director Enamul Hasan Naveen have become the focus of discussion in the Eid market.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Enamul Hasan Naveen alleged that they have faced obstacles in trying to deliver products to customers at fair prices. According to him, a syndicate has been controlling prices in the market for a long time and that circle is putting pressure on them. He claimed that they were effectively forced to fix prices by not selling Punjabis below 4,500 taka and pajamas below 1,500 taka.

He also said that they have been threatened over the phone. They have even been told that if the videos are not removed, all the showrooms will be closed. However, he claims that they did not make any videos themselves. A customer recorded the video and spread it on Facebook, from where the matter was later reported to the media. He alleged that businessmen do not have proper value in this country and the environment for independent business has not yet been created.

Enamul Hasan Naveen also said at the press conference that their goal is not just to do business, but to be by the side of the common people by selling products at fair prices. He said that a large part of the organization’s income and expenses is spent on helping the poor, suffering and helpless people. They are distributed food and medical treatment is also provided. That is why they have remained behind the publicity for so long and did not want to come forward.

The most talked about part of the incident came on the same evening. According to the complaint, Enamul Hasan Naveen left the country through Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after receiving death threats. Later, he posted a picture of his departure on the social media Facebook and wrote that he wants to live like a lion, but does not want to orphan his children due to the shooting of the syndicate. Therefore, he is leaving the country. He also mentioned that he might return one day if the situation normalizes.

After the publication of this post, the matter spread quickly on social media. In particular, there was a huge backlash over the allegation that a branch of Naveen Fashion was forcibly closed in Moghbazar in the capital. Many expressed anger over the incident, while some questioned business freedom.

However, the whole incident took a new turn in just 24 hours. On Wednesday, Naveen Fashion’s Facebook page announced that the company is reopening. At the same time, it expressed regret over the forced closure of the Moghbazar branch. The post also said that although the Moghbazar branch was closed the day before Eid, the Eid festivities will continue for 15 days.

The company announced that all branches except the Moghbazar branch are being reopened at the initiative of NCP leader and National Parliament Member Hasnat Abdullah and President of the Bangladesh Shop Owners Association Helal Saheb. At the same time, it was also said that the company’s managing director will come from China to join the customers on Facebook Live and exchange Eid greetings.

Press conferences, allegations of threats, emigration, emotional Facebook posts and the announcement of reopening the company in just one day, all of them have become a big topic of public discussion. Questions have also come to the fore again about what actually happened in the market surrounding the sale of goods at low prices, how true the syndicate’s allegations are, and how favorable the environment is for traders.
