A new satirical video has gone viral on social media, called โParty Officeโ. It was created by two young content creators, Rakib Hasan and Khairul Islam Jisan. The video is mainly made around the current political reality of Bangladesh, where various inconsistencies in society are highlighted through humor. At the beginning of the video, a character named Fazal Bhai is seen, who, after failing in one business after another, finally sees politics as the most profitable business. Then he forms a new political party and becomes the president of the party himself.
Fazal Bhai, wearing a white Punjabi and a blue coat, is walking in the middle of the road in the style of a leader, with his followers behind him. They are chanting slogans โ โMy party is full of leaders, no one is corrupt.โ This dialogue shows how subtly the creators have satirized the state of contemporary politics. The video shows the names of the parties, the search for symbols, the competition to become president, and how society and people are treated after entering politics, in a cartoon-like manner. Although everything is presented in a humorous manner, the deep message inside it cannot be denied.
The trend of forming political parties in Bangladesh is a very old issue. However, in the recent context, this issue has come into more discussion, because more than 65 parties have already applied for registration with the Election Commission. Many of these parties do not have permanent offices, nor do they have committees at the district or upazila level. Many parties have no visible activities. The โParty Officeโ video presents these issues in a way that anyone can easily understand, without directly saying them.
Rakib and Jisan believe that if the deep reality of society can be explained in a simple way through entertainment, it will not only make people happy but also make them think.
