Nushrat Bharucha: happy to get soulful characters

Bollywood actress Nushrat Bharucha is extremely satisfied with the work she has done in her recently released film Janhit Mein Jari.

Nusrat, who started her career with bold and glamorous roles in films like Dibakar Banerjee's highly experimental anthology

Drama Love Sex Aur Dhoka and Pyaar Ka Punchnama, has switched gears and played more defined roles in films.

Talking about it, Nushrat said that during Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety,

my aunt used to say, why don't you do a film next time where you are actually doing something.

Yes, then when films like Chhalaang, Chhori or web projects like Ajeeb Dastaan came,

I started feeling satisfied as an actress. Personally, as an actress, I am extremely happy with the kind of space I have created for myself.

He further mentioned, if you are considered for a film but things don't work out, that's fine,

but what hurts the most is when you are not even considered for a particular project.

In that phase, your mind can either overwhelm you or lead you.

He concluded, I chose the latter by focusing on my work and celebrating the work that came my way.

Personally, I would like to balance my choices. However, there has been an influx of female-oriented scripts coming my way after Chhori.

The filmmaker explains that when I started, they could not imagine me beyond my glam avatar, but I think that has changed now.

On the work front, Nushrat Bharucha will next be seen in Selfie with Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi, Ram Setu with Akshay Kumar and Chhori 2.

She will also be seen in an upcoming yet untitled pan-India film opposite Belmakonda Srinivas.
