Dave Chappelle attacked onstage in Los Angeles during Netflix show
Comedian Dave Chappelle was attacked Tuesday night by a man who rushed on stage while
The comedian was performing at a Los Angeles venue, police have confirmed.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesman told The Washington Post that officers responded to the incident at the Hollywood Bowl at about 10:45 p.m.
The man was carrying a replica gun and was taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated for injuries.
Police on Wednesday identified Isaiah Lee, 23, as the suspect. Chappelle was not seriously harmed, they said.
The LAPD spokesman said the incident is being investigated and that Lee is in police custody.
He has been charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon because the replica handgun
contained a knife blade, according to an LAPD official. Bail is set at $30,000.
