The popular Turkish drama series “I Am Mother” or “Sandık Kokusu” is now spreading internationally. The series first aired on Show TV in Turkey and is produced by O3 Medya. After a huge response among domestic viewers, the drama has now been bought by various international television channels for broadcast in the United States, Latin America, and several countries in Europe.
The distribution company Eccho Rights is selling the rights to the series to new countries. The series has recently been bought by Univision in the Hispanic market in the United States, Teleamazonas in Ecuador, Kanal D in Romania, TV3 in Lithuania, TV Klan in Albania, and Jibek Joly in Kazakhstan. These sales agreements have made the series even more popular on international platforms.
The series is based on the love, pain, and pain of a mother. This character-based drama revolves around the struggles of a woman and the various events that happen in her life. The main character is Karsu, who is in an unhappy marriage. Her husband, Reha, is a cruel man and not a good father. After the birth of her third child, Kuzey realizes that it is not possible for her to raise all her children together. So she sends her three-year-old son, Kuzey, to his mother, Filiz, in Istanbul.
But unfortunately, Kuzey goes missing on the way to Istanbul. Karasu searches for her son for three years. One day, while on a trip to Mersin, she suddenly finds him. But then she sees that her son is no longer Kuzey, now he is known as ‘Deniz’ and cannot recognize his mother. This is where a mother’s struggle begins. A difficult fight begins to find her son and to accept him back as her own.

The series has previously aired in Spain, Chile, Colombia, Panama, Israel, North Macedonia, and in the Middle East and North Africa via MBC, where episodes were shown together with Turkey. The series ended after its second season in March 2025.
