Shetland Season 9: The popular crime drama returns with new mysteries and intriguing characters!

Shetland Series 9 is back, with new mysteries, murders, and detective missions stirring up excitement. The series stars Ashley Jensen as Detective Inspector Ruth Calder, who previously played the same role in series eight.

This time again he will take the story forward by interrogating suspects, visiting houses, and gathering clues. Series regular faces return, including Alison O’Donnell (Tosh), Louise Howden (Billy), Steven Robertson (Sandy), Tibu Fortes (Harry Lamont), Angus Miller (Donnie Russell) and Anne Kidd (Cora McLean).

Liverpool actor Ian Hart has joined as a special guest in this series. Viewers will probably recognize him from his role as Professor Quirrell in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. He is also in various dramas like The Last Kingdom, The Responder, and The Terror. Here he plays Oxford University mathematics professor Euan Rossi, who visits the island at the invitation of an old acquaintance.

Vincent Regan also joined this season as John Harris, a domineering father figure. His performance in the House of the Dragon series left a mark on the hearts of the audience. Ross Anderson and Stephen McLeod play John’s two sons, Patrick and Fergus. When an islander needs shelter, John and his family help them, but is their true motive just humanity?

The series stars Sarah McGillivray as Annie Bett, Tosh’s friend, an Oxford graduate in mathematics who now works as an accountant for small businesses in Shetland. Newcomer Jacob Ferguson plays Annie and Ian Bate’s son Noah. Ian Bate is played by Robert Jack, a familiar face in various Scottish TV series.

Tara Lee appears in the series as Lisa, a homeless Shetlander. His character is paired with conspiracy-loving campervan owner Angus, played by Jimmy Yule. Jimmy has been acting in TV drama for a long time and his works are very popular with audiences in Scotland.

Also, some new faces have been added this season. Leeroy Boone stars as Anton Bergen, Conor McCarey as PC Alex Grant and Nalini Chetty as Tara Kirk. Also, Richard Thompson, Stuart Campbell, and Gemma McElhinney have been added to various important roles this season.
