Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited film Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh has become one of the most talked-about films of 2025. The sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Kesari, the film has already created a lot of interest among the audience with its trailer and songs. There is a lot of discussion on social media about its promotion, dialogues, and visibility.
The advance ticket sales of the film have started, and according to reports, the film has received a great response even before its release. According to Sacnilk, Kesari Chapter 2 has sold 4,034 tickets so far and collected Rs 12,65,298 from advance bookings. The film has 1,948 shows, with the average price of each ticket being less than Rs 250.
The highest advance bookings have been made in the Delhi-NCR region, where around Rs 15.36 lakhs have been collected and block seats worth Rs 30.89 lakhs have been booked. There is also a lot of interest in Mumbai and Bengaluru, where around Rs 1.48 lakhs have been sold in advance.
The film is directed by debutant Karan Singh Tyagi. The story revolves around a courtroom battle that highlights a neglected chapter in India’s freedom struggle. The film is based on the life of a lawyer named C. Sankaran Nair and the backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

One of the attractions of the film is its historical setting. The film, which revolves around the character of Sankaran Nair, is not only entertaining but also an opportunity to learn about Indian history in a new way.
The film is based on the book “The Case That Shook The Empire”, written by Sankaran Nair’s great-grandson Raghu Palat and his wife Pushpa Palat.
Kesari Chapter 2 stars Akshay Kumar along with R. Madhavan, Ananya Panday, Regina Cassandra, Simon Paisley Day and Alex O’Neill. The film is produced by Karan Johar, who was also associated with the film Kesari earlier.
The film is set to release on April 18, 2025. Recently, Akshay Kumar thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for remembering this historical figure. He wrote on Instagram, “It is very important to remember the contribution of these heroes of our freedom struggle and make it known to the new generation.”
