Sikander was released as a much-awaited film in Bollywood. Although it started well in the first week, the situation is completely different now. The film lost a lot of viewers in the days after its release, and it became completely clear on day 12. Sikander is now almost on the verge of failure. Due to the impact of the newly released film ‘Jaat, ‘ the number of screens of Sikander has decreased a lot, which has directly affected the box office collection.
On day 12, i.e., on the second Thursday, the film has earned only 80 lakh rupees. This amount is very low, especially for a film that performed quite well in the beginning. So far, the total collection has stood at around 119.25 crore rupees (net). It is expected that it will touch the milestone of 120 crores on day 13. However, the lifetime collection of the film is expected to end between 123 and 125 crores. In such a situation, it is considered a clear flop.
Analyzing the box office journey of the film, it is seen that it earned ₹30 crores on the first day. On the second day, it increased to ₹33 crore. After that, the earnings gradually decreased. On the third day, it was ₹22 crore; on the fourth day, ₹10 crore; on the fifth day, ₹6.25 crore; on the sixth day, ₹4 crore. On the seventh day, the earnings were again ₹4 crore, and on the second Sunday, they increased slightly to ₹4.35 crore. But then it started falling again. On the second Monday, the earnings were ₹1.85 crore; on the second Tuesday, ₹1.6 crore; on the second Wednesday, ₹1.4 crore; and on the second Thursday, it came to just ₹8 million.

If the worldwide earnings are considered, then the total net earnings from India are ₹119.25 crore, and in gross, for it is ₹140.9 crore. ₹55.65 crore came from abroad. In total, the film’s worldwide gross earnings are around ₹196.55 crore.
On the other hand, if the number of viewers and theater attendance are looked at, then the same trend can be observed. On the first day, the attendance was 15%, 25-27% and 35-40% in the morning, afternoon and evening respectively. Then, on the second day, the total attendance was 26.83%, and on the third day, it decreased to 19.67%. On the fourth day, it was only 13.5%; on the fifth day, it was 9.58%; on the sixth day, it was 8.33%; on the seventh day, it was 9.75%, and on the second Sunda, it was 11.5%. After that, there was a continuous decline. On the second Monday, it was 6.17%; on the second Tuesday, it was 7.67%; on the second Wednesday, it was 6.83%; and on the second Thursday, it was only 10.17%.
From these data, it is easy to understand that although the movie ‘Sikander’ received a good response in the beginning, the audience gradually lost interest. One of the reasons for this was the release of the new movie ‘Jaat’ and the lack of interest of the audience in the story or production.
The initial enthusiasm surrounding the movie has now been shattered to a great extent. At this point, it can be said that despite being a big-budget film, ‘Sikander’ could not find a place in the hearts of the audience. As much discussion there was in the beginning, it could not be maintained in the end.
This film will be a lesson for the Bollywood industry—a film cannot be made a hit just with big names or initial hype; winning the hearts of the audience is the most important thing.
