Bollywood has once again been plunged into mourning. The entire industry has been stunned by the news of the death of one veteran artist after another. Legendary actor Manoj Kumar passed away a few days ago. Before he could even finish his career, Bollywood has lost another veteran producer, Salim Akhtar. He was 82 years old. The news of his death was announced by his wife, Shama Akhtar. It is learnt that Salim Akhtar was admitted to a first-class hospital in Mumbai and breathed his last there. Although the exact cause of his death is not yet known.
Salim Akhtar’s last rites will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday after Zohar prayers, his family has informed. He was particularly known for introducing new faces to Bollywood. Rani Mukherjee’s Bollywood journey started with the movie ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat’ in 1997. Later in 2005, Tamannaah Bhatia also entered Bollywood with his produced film ‘Chand Sa Roshan Chehra’. Both the heroines later became popular and made their place in Bollywood.

The list of films produced by Salim Akhtar includes many famous films. In the nineties, he had films like Phool Aur Angaar, ‘Badal, ‘ ‘Baaji, ‘ ‘Qayamat, ‘ ‘Mehndi, ‘ ‘Aa Gale Lag Ja’, ‘Aadmi’, ‘Jigar. ‘ Each film made a separate place among the audience. Many famous personalities of Bollywood, including producer Sajid Nadiadwala, have expressed their condolences on his death. The Indian Film and Television Producers’ Association has also expressed deep grief over his death.
Salim Akhtar’s passing is a big blow to Bollywood. The industry will always remember his contribution in bringing out new stars. The films he produced and the stars created through his films are still shining in Bollywood today. With the passing of such a man, Bollywood has lost a silent craftsman.
